Aloha!
Welcome to our slice of paradise. We thought you may like to know a little about us, the current owners of Menehune Shores #211. We were introduced on Kauai in 1987. Danny lived on the island and I (Linda) was visiting my family that lived on Kauai at the time. My brother introduced us one day and it was love at first sight! We have been together ever since. We celebrated our 20th anniversary last December and look forward to spending at least 20 more years together!
We currently live in Novato, a small town in Northern California, and plan on moving to Maui by 2014. We purchased our condo in 2007 while attending our nephew’s high school graduation. Maui has always been my favorite island and was very happy when my family moved back to the island. This island has so much to offer.. ocean (moana) or mountain (mauna), beach (kahakai) or valley (awawa)… we love it all!

Some of our favorite activities are walking on the beach to hiking in the forests. Here is a picture of Danny in the bamboo forest at Oheo Gulch, Hana (aka – Seven Sacred Pools) and me on one of the swinging bridges during a hike trough the Waihe’e Valley. We spend a lot of time on our lanai, watching the sunsets and turtles bobbing in the water. Whale watching from the lanai, top my favorite things to do!

Our family ties to the island are strong. This is a photo of Danny, me, Mike and Toby at the Diamond Head Gallery on Front Street in Lahaina. My brother, Mike Neal, is a local Maui artist that has his woodwork and photography displayed at art galleries and shows throughout the island. Please visit his website – www.MNeal.net – to see works of beautiful wood and amazing photography. We even have some of his work in our condo! The outrigger paddles we have hanging on the wall were custom made by Mike and we hope our guests enjoy their beauty as much as we enjoy using them.

Toby (our sister-in-law) and Bonny (her sister), started a 501(c)3 non-profit organization to help the local children of Maui succeed in school. Keiki Cupboard (www.KeikiCupboard.com ) was successfully formed. Me (the treasurer) and Melissa (the secretary) joined the mission and the four person, all volunteer board (go team!), went to work. The organization gives school supplies to children in need without having to go through the “red tape” of most programs. The school teachers and counselors are in charge of administering items from the cupboard... whenever the needs arise. In less than 2 years, we have fully stocked cupboards in five schools (two in Kihei) and are able to distribute supplies to one additional school... and we are still growing! Our goal is to have cupboards in all of the Maui schools that want one! It is great to be able to make a difference like this. I am really enjoying the opportunity! Visit the website - www.KeikiCupboard.com or e-mail me directly (VacationMaui@comcast.net) if you would like more information on Keiki Cupboard.

Whether it’s enjoying a sunrise at Haleakala or a sunset with our o'hana (family) from our lanai, We love our home-away-from-home. We welcome our guests to enjoy our piece of paradise as our extended o’hana.
Mahalo (thank you) for letting us share our love of the island with you! We look forward to meeting you soon!
Aloha,
Linda and Danny
(your Maui hosts)
